Lars van Berkel, better known as "El Rojo," is a motocross rider from Veghel, Netherlands. Born on January 15, 1994, Lars fell in love with motocross early on. Before getting his first MX-bike Lars was competing in BMX, a bet with his father Harrie was made. If Lars would become European Champion BMX, Harrie would give Lars his first motocross bike. In 2005 Lars did the unthinkable for Harrie and Lars become World Champion BMX in the age of 11 aft the famous Paris Bercy! Since that day in July, Lars has been tearing up motocross tracks all over the world. When Lars is not on his bike, he likes to work on his youtube videos, social media or writes his monthly column for the Noppennieuws. Sitting still isn’t an option for Lars.
He is known for his fiery red hair and fearless riding style which gave him the nickname EL ROJO during his first visit for a Beach Race to Argentina. Over the years, the travels and the never giver up additude has earned him a solid fanbase. He loves connecting with his fans on social media and on the track. Always looking for ways to give back to those who support him.
For Lars, it’s not only just about winning—it’s about the journey, the people, and the community that makes it all worthwhile.
